Honoring Heroes On The Road

At Gully Transportation, we support the people and communities we partner with.

In 2020, Tribute Trucks began as a way to further show support. Many Gully employees have served in the military and we started this initiative as a way to honor them and their families. Tribute Trucks travel across the country, proudly representing the dedication and sacrifice of service members and law enforcement.

Golden Warrior Tribute Truck

Lance Corporal Jeffrey D. Walker made the ultimate sacrifice while serving in Iraq in 2007. His father, JD Walker, had driven for Gully Transportation for ten years at the time. In honor of Jeffrey and the Unsung Heroes of the Armed Forces, Gully partnered with Freightliner/Western Daimler to create the Golden Warrior Tribute Truck wrap as a surprise dedication to JD and his late son.

We brought JD to Cleveland, North Carolina, under the impression of picking up a standard truck. Upon arrival, he was surprised with a ceremony honoring his son and the behind-the-scenes heroes (cooks, chaplains, service and construction members, etc.) of the military.

JD proudly drove the truck for four years and participated in Wreaths Across America, helping to place Christmas wreaths on the headstones of service members in Arlington National Cemetery and other military cemeteries across the nation. The Golden Warrior tribute Truck still participates in parades, school events and truck shows.

Terry Jones, a Gully driver, served with the Adams County Sheriff's Department in the early 1980s. With deep ties to the law enforcement community, he worked alongside Michael Gully to design a truck that honors police and law enforcement officials.

The Back the Blue Tribute Truck displays prominent symbols of support. The hood shows the Policeman’s Prayer stating, “Blessed are the peacekeepers for they be called children of God.” On the truck, Terry listed the ten states on his Midwest route. The back of the sleeper shows off local sheriff departments badge logos. At night and for special occasions, blue LED lights turn on underneath the truck.

Terry loves to take the truck to events like fundraisers, school events, and tributes to support law enforcement officials.
